Have you ever encountered LG Washer Error Code LE?

In the event that you see the code LE on your LG washer, this means that the motor has been locked.

In some cases, this is simply due to the fact that the load was too heavy when it was washed.

Depending on the severity of the problem, however, it may be an indication that the motor has failed, that the rotor position sensor has failed, or that the sensor or motor wires have been damaged.

Here are the easiest steps to fix LG Washer LE code errors.

First, you should try resetting the machine to determine if the error code is caused by a heavy wash load.

The following steps will guide you through the process of completing this task:

In order to shut the washer off, you will need to press the POWER button.

The washer should be unplugged from the wall or the circuit breaker should be flipped.

The START/PAUSE button must be held for at least five seconds while power is disengaged.

Put the breaker back in the “on” position or reconnect the washer back into the wall if it has been unplugged.

Did this solve your problem? In the event that the code is not removed, you will need to continue troubleshooting the other issues as well.

What Are The Most Effective Methods For Troubleshooting And Repairing Locked Rotors?

In the event that the LE code displayed on your LG washer is accompanied by loud “clanking” noises, you need to check the rotor.

If you would like to do this, you can follow these steps:

  1. Before unplugging the power cord, turn off the inlet water supply and disconnect all water hoses.
  2. You need to ensure that the washer is far enough forward so that you can easily reach the back of it.
  3. As a next step, you will need to remove the screws that hold the back panel on to the washer on the backside.

The top or bottom tabs (depending on your model) should release when you bend the panel enough.

  1. It is necessary to remove the bolt that secures the rotor to the tub shaft. The rotor may need to be held still while the bolt is torqued so that the bolt is properly tightened.
  2. As there may be sharp edges involved in this process, wear gloves.
  3. Pull the rotor straight off the shaft by grasping it firmly.

Immediately after removing the rotor, check the teeth for wear or missing ones.

Usually, if this is the case, you will simply need to replace the old part with the new one in order to fix the problem.

How Can A Failed Rotor Position Sensor Be Troubleshooted And Repaired?

A rotor position sensor is an important component of the automatic system (RPS) in your washer.

By assisting the control board, it determines whether everything is functioning properly.

Your washer’s hall sensor is responsible for monitoring the motor and making sure that it is working properly.

There is a possibility that your LG washer can display the LE error code if this sensor fails. In order to successfully accomplish this task, you will have to follow these steps:

  1. If you wish to fix this problem, you will need to cut off all power to the machine.
  2. You can access the back panel by pulling it far enough forward.
  3. The next step is to disassemble the rear panel from the washer by removing the screws. Release the panel by pulling up on it.
  4. Removing the bolt that connects the tub shaft to the rotor is the first step.

It may be advisable to hold the rotor as you loosen the bolt.

Another solution is to have someone hold the tub inside the washer while someone opens the door.

Whenever you come into contact with sharp edges, it is a good idea to wear gloves.

  1. Remove the rotor by grasping it and pulling it out.

On the stator’s bottom is a sensor that measures the rotor position.

  1. Unhooking two connectors requires unscrewing a couple screws.
  2. After removing the screws, you’ll need to remove all bolts holding the stator in place.

It is important to hold the stator when removing the last bolt to prevent it from falling.

  1. By folding down the stator, you will be able to clearly see the RPS.
  2. The two wiring harnesses from the switches should now be removed.
  3. Snap the new RPS into place after removing the old one.

By reassembling your washer, you should be able to resolve the problem.

Your motor may need to be checked and the sensor wires may need to be replaced if this repair doesn’t solve your problem.

This can lead to the LG washer LE code being displayed as the result of an issue such as this.

Thus, if you are buying replacement parts for your vehicle, you may want to check the wires first.

Following steps one through six will help you disassemble the washer.

  1. Check the wires that connect the motor and the rotor position sensor once the stator is removed and you can see the wiring harnesses.
  2. There are three colors of wire: red, yellow, and blue.
  3. Wires that have suffered damage should be repaired immediately.
  4. It is possible to reconnect the wires by using heat shrink tubing.
  5. It will be necessary to remove and replace any wires that are too damaged to be repaired with this method.

Despite trying all the fixes above, your LG washer still displays the LE error code. It is likely that you will need to contact LG’s support center or a local appliance repair technician.

There may be other issues from time to time that can cause the LG washer LE error code to appear, but these are the most common causes.
