How to program a Spectrum Universal Remote control?

Having a universal remote control helps you enjoy an uninterrupted entertainment time. With it, you can easily switch between devices without having to reach out for a different control for a different device. When it comes to universal remote brands, the Spectrum universal remote control is one of the trusted brands in the market.

This post isn’t about why you should get a Spectrum universal remote but how to program a spectrum universal remote to your device. So I assume that you already have your universal remote ready. Follow the steps below to easily program your Spectrum remote.

How to program a Spectrum Universal Remote control for the first time

Step 1. Turn on the device you want to program. Remember that you can use your Spectrum universal remote to program your AUX, TV, DVD, CBL and VCR.

Step 2. Hold your Spectrum universal remote control to face the device you want to sync.

Step 3. Go through the list below to find the code that best fits your device. You can try other codes if your brand codes doesn’t work. Once your find the right code, press the OK/SEL button to save it.

Step 4. Press the Volume button to check if you got the process. If you got the process correctly, the remote will work perfectly.

How to program a Spectrum Universal Remote control with Auto-Search Method

Step 1. Turn on the device you want to program. Remember that you can use your Spectrum universal remote to program your AUX, TV, DVD, CBL and VCR.

Step 2. Hold your Spectrum universal remote control to face the device you want to sync.

Step 3. Choose from the AUX, DVD, TV, CBL option and press the one that suits the device you want to program and the OK/SELL button. Hold down both buttons for a couple of seconds. The Device LED light will blink continuously for several seconds.

Step 4. Press the CH+ or CH-. You can’t press both buttons simultaneously. The Spectrum remote will show off the ON/OFF commands. Release the button once your device turns off.

Step 5. Press the Volume button to check if you got the process. If you got the process correctly, the remote will work perfectly.

Spectrum Universal Remote not working

If your Spectrum universal remote control is not working, it could be as a result of some minor issues. This session will point out issues that can make your universal remote to stop working and to fix it.
