The Insignia TV usually come with a remote control or the Insignia universal remote. But in a situation where you want to use a universal remote control from a different brand to program your Insignia TV, you will need the Insignia TV universal remote codes. This is different from the Insignia universal remote codes. The code is usually a 3 digits codes. How To Program Insignia TV Using Universal Remote Control

Step 1 : Switch on your Insignia TV set you want to program.

Step 2: Hold your universal TV remote to face your Insignia TV.

Step 3: Find the ‘PROG’ option on your universal remote.  Hold on to the button until the tiny LED light on your remote lights up. Press on to the ‘INFO’ button.

Step 4: If you get the first three steps right, you will notice the tiny LED light will continue to blink.

Step 5: Find the correct code below that applies to your device and enter. Your TV will show ‘Success’ once you get the correct code. If not, try another code. On the other hand, your TV will display ‘Sorry’ if you enter an incorrect code. Repeat the process with another code.

Step 6: Press any of the functions keys on your remote control. If it works, that means you got the steps correctly. If it doesn’t work, repeat the steps and try with another code.

How To Set Up Codes For Insignia TV Using Universal Remote Codes (Alternative Method)

The first method to program your universal remote to your Insignia TV has been explained earlier. If the method does work, you can make use of this alternative method.

Step 1: Find the PROG button on your remove control and press down until you see a tiny LED light.

Step 2: Choose the ‘TV’ option. Proceed to press ‘SET’ on your universal remote control.

Step 3: Find the correct TV code for Insignia TV above and enter in the space for codes.

Step 4: If the light goes off when you enter the code, it shows you got the correct code.

How To Check If A Insignia Remote Is a Universal Remote

Some TV remotes that comes with some Insignia TVs are universal remotes. Meaning you can use the remote to power other gadgets besides Insignia TV. To check if your Insignia remote is a universal remote, check if has the ‘Set’ and ‘Mode’ options. If it does, it is a universal remote.
